Signature of M - Celebrity art auction raising money for homeless youth (June 2008)

Anthony Breslin is painting celebrities and the portraits are then being auctioned with the proceeds going to help the homeless kids on our streets.
A portrait of AFL legend Ron Barassi will be painted by renowned Melbourne artist Anthony Breslin onto a life size canvass, to raise money to support young Australians who are homeless.

Through the Melbourne is Unforgettable celebrity canvass event the artist will paint portraits of well known Melbourne personalities, including Molly Meldrum, capturing their personal stories, as well as other notable themes of Melbourne. The portraits will be painted inside the Myer Bourke Street store window, from June 17 th noon to June 18th.

The finished portraits will be auctioned to raise funds for the Ladder project; an art initiative by the Signature of M, Myer, the AFL Foundation and AFL Players� Association to support young Melbournians who are homeless.

Other Melbourne celebrities painted are Vanessa Amorossi (18th June at noon), Molly Meldrum (Saturday 21st June) and Helen Capalos (Monday 23rd June at 2pm). This is also your chance to own one of the original celebrity canvasses. Each canvass will be a unique investment and a piece of Australian history. Anyone can take part in the auction, which starts on June 25, by bidding online with our auction partners www.graysonline.com.au .
