Linden Postcard Show 2009

Published Thursday, 22 January 2009

The Linden Postcard Show is a must see event - and now the $13,000 prize money reflects the significance of the event.
The 18th Annual Linden Postcard Show opens on 7 February 2009 with around 2,500 small contemporary art works by 1,000 artists from all over Australia - many from out of the way places but all are for sale.

The small format means the majority of the works are reasonably priced. You might find a great work by an established artist such as Jenny Watson, whose work can be found in the National Gallery of Victoria or there is always the chance that you will discover the next Patricia Piccinini, a member of the large Postcard Show alumni.

The Postcard Show is the biggest open entry award exhibitions in Australia in which every entry is exhibited, revealing an enormous diversity of art forms and, as always, some new talent. This year's judging will be particularly difficult but Linden's 2009 judges: Tony Ellwood, Director Queensland Art Gallery/ GOMA, Zara Stanhope, independent curator and writer and Jarrod Rawlins, Director of Uplands Gallery are up to the challenge.
