Parallel Visions Published Tuesday, 12 March 200222 artists from the permanent collection ranging from Rupert Bunny to Jeffrey Smart comprising over 250 ojects. At the AGNSW until January 2003
This full-on exhibition embraces a diversity of themes seen in a new context. Some of the most revered landscapes in the collection are included: from Hans Heysen's beautiful watercolour Summer, 1909 to Jeffrey Smart's Truck and trailer approaching a city, 1973.
Offering a different perspective of familiar icons, Parallel Visions also delivers a convenient method of comparing artists with other artists from similar periods just as the text books have been doing for the last forty years or so, but with the objects infront of us rather than printed on a page.
