      <title>Chroma Student Art Competition</title>
      <description>Closes on 31 Mar 2010&lt;br /&gt;The Chroma Student Art Competition is open to students enrolled in atertiary art course with a duration of at least one year. Students must be a resident of either the USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand or Australia and seventeen or older and enrolled in an art course. Paintings will need to have incorporated some Chroma paints in their work. Refer to the Chroma website for the specific registration details. &lt;br /&gt;
  30 semi-finalists are selected from &lt;span style="color: #ff0000;"&gt;3 rounds, closing December 31 2009, March 31 2010 and July 31 2010.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

      <title>City of Hobart Art Prize</title>
      <description>Closes on 17 Mar 2010&lt;br /&gt;The City of Hobart Art Prize is open to artists, designers and craftspeople nationwide - this year the two categories for this award are digital media and ceramics.&lt;br /&gt;

The City of Hobart Art Prize seeks to:&lt;br /&gt;

      <title>National NAIDOC Poster Competition</title>
      <description>Closes on 31 Mar 2010&lt;br /&gt;The National NAIDOC Poster Competition is an opportunity for talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to have their artwork showcased across Australia as part of NAIDOC celebrations. 
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Indigenous Australians&lt;/b&gt; are encouraged to enter the NAIDOC Poster Competition and nominate fellow community members to receive National NAIDOC Awards. &lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Sidney Myer International Ceramics Award</title>
      <description>Closes on 02 Apr 2010&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;This is a &lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="color: #ff0000;"&gt;biennial &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;event - next scheduled for 2010.&lt;/b&gt;
&lt;p&gt; The Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award is organised by the Shepparton Art Gallery in association with La Trobe University. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Entries for the new award, The &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Sidney Myer Fund AustralianCeramic Art Award&lt;/span&gt;, are now open for both Australian andInternational ceramic artists. With an expansion to $55,000 inprize monies, the new award confirms its place as the premierAustralian/International acquisitive art award.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There will be three recipients of the award, each of whom willreceive a significant stipend to produce a body of work forexhibition, on the understanding that the gallery will select onework for its collection. Costs associated with the exhibition willbe borne by the gallery, including freight and the production of afully illustrated catalogue. The gallery will also pay airfares andaccommodation for recipient artists to attend the opening event andpresent at the associated seminar.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Swell Currumbin Sculpture Festival</title>
      <description>Closes on 15 Mar 2010&lt;br /&gt;This is an outdoor sculpture show with many works displayed on the coastline along the Currumbin Beach ocean walkway in Queensland, Australia. The sculptures are exhibited over ten days, with festivities on the weekends including additional sculpture talks and workshops..   
&lt;p&gt; The sculptures are built for the outdoor environment and utilise materials such as steel, bronze, timber, stone, glass and copper. Swell Smalls is an exhibition of smaller works that will be displayed at The Way of Design Gallery adjacent to the beachfront along Pacific Parade, Currumbin. &lt;/p&gt;

      <title>The Churchie Emerging Art  Exhibition</title>
      <description>Closes on 31 Mar 2010&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #cc6600;"&gt;Prize announced on Friday 11 June 2010 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
 The aim of the exhibition is to enhance the recognition of, and offer a unique award to emerging artists. Originally open to young artists under the age of 35 and living in South-East Queensland, &lt;i&gt;The Churchie&lt;/i&gt; has now opened its doors to all artists over the age of 18 years nationwide. The prize is held each May.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
   The churchie national emerging art exhibition was established in 1987. Its founders comprised art patrons, collectors and art gallery directors invited by parents of students attending the Anglican Church Grammar School&amp;nbsp;to form a committee for the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;churchie&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;br /&gt;
